Children's book author & brand founder

Nicole Lefebvre

I write children's books and build characters, movement, and community around them — for kids and families who deserve stories that name exactly what they're going through.

Nothing here started as a business plan. It started as a gap — a book I needed and couldn't find, a feeling I needed and couldn't name. I build out of need. Then I hand the world what I built.

Three worlds, one mission each: Wonder. Permission. Connection. Scroll through the chapters below, or jump straight to whichever one brought you here.

Mischief Is My Mantra

Somewhere along the way, we started treating childhood curiosity like something to manage instead of something to celebrate.

Inspired by my son's experience with ADHD, Mischief Is My Mantra was born from a realization much bigger than neurodivergence. His boundless energy, impulsivity, and fearless curiosity amplified something I couldn't ignore: somewhere between the childhood we remember and the parenting we've embraced, we've lost a little room for kids to simply be kids.

Mischief Is My Mantra is my love letter to bringing those two worlds together. A celebration of curiosity, good-hearted mischief, and the magic hiding inside everyday chaos.

Beginning with a children's book written by Nicole Lefebvre and illustrated by Devika Oza, for ages 2–5, it's a character-driven world with a much bigger mission: Making Mischief Meaningful™.

Real Girls Roar

Girls get told to be quiet, small, and easy long before anyone tells them they're allowed to be big. So I built nine dino friends who never got that memo — each with her own Mighty Move and song to get her dancing. Real Girls Roar hands girls permission to move loud, take up space, and practice being unmistakably themselves.

Bluebird's Family Magic & Our Blue Hue

There was no book on the shelf that made how my family began feel magical, so I wrote one. Bluebird's Family Magic turns an egg-donor origin story into something a child can hold and a parent can read out loud without flinching. Our Blue Hue is the world that grew around it — the conversations, the community, the proof that no family has to explain itself alone.

About Nicole

A mom. A weaver of worlds.

Nicole Lefebvre smiling, with long wavy brown hair, wearing a white t-shirt

I'm a mom first. Everything else — author, founder, builder of missions — grew out of that. After years navigating infertility, I became a mother through egg donation, and found there was no book on the shelf for the story my family was living. So I built one. Bluebird's Family Magic became Our Blue Hue, a whole world built out of one need: for donor-conceived families to feel less alone.

That's the pattern behind everything I make. I notice the gap — the story missing, the permission not given, the wonder no one's protecting — and I build a world to fill it. Real Girls Roar exists because girls need permission to be their wildly free selves and celebrate their power through play. Mischief Is My Mantra exists because my own wildly free souls, Cole and Layla, taught me that curiosity isn't a problem to manage — it's a spark worth celebrating.

Connection. Permission. Wonder. Three different worlds, built the same way: out of need, on purpose, for the gaps that deserve to rise.
